4.8 / 5 from verified reviews across Europe

You toss and turn in bed in the evening, your mind races uncontrollably, and even if you do drift off, you are wide awake again before long. So you start looking for something to “knock you out” a little. The problem is, your morning ends up looking the same way — even at ten, you still feel like a zombie. Try a different approach. DeepRest is a thoughtfully designed evening formula for easier falling asleep and better-quality sleep, without unnecessarily leaving you groggy. What active ingredients is it built on, and what can you expect from it?

DeepRest at a glance

  • Who it’s for: adults who find it hard to slow down in the evening, “switch off” their mind, transition from a work pace into rest, or simply want to support sleep quality and recovery.

  • What it’s for: as part of a routine focused on evening calm, with the goal of waking up feeling more rested and energized.

  • When to take it: 1–3 capsules 30–60 minutes before bed, depending on individual needs and tolerance.

  • What it contains: 237 mg of magnesium in bisglycinate form, 201 mg of L-theanine, 60 mg of chamomile extract, 3 mg of vitamin B6, and 3.9 mg of BioPerine® in the recommended daily dose of three capsules.

  • What not to expect: it is not a treatment for insomnia or a sedative; it does not replace enough sleep, a regular routine, or addressing the true cause of long-term sleep difficulties.

When the body wants to sleep, but the mind is still in a work meeting

It’s 10:30 pm. Your body would sleep, but your mind is still running through tomorrow’s to-do list. You remember an email you never sent and start planning your morning meeting in your head.

At 11:15 pm, after a full day, you finally put away your laptop or finish the last household tasks. But instead of the pleasant wind-down you were expecting, a second shift begins: social media, news, a series, one more article… and suddenly it’s 12:30 am.

And then there is a third scenario. You fall asleep without a problem, but wake up several times during the night. In the morning, you feel as if you spent eight hours in bed, yet you still do not feel fully rested.

Of course, situations like these do not necessarily mean you are lacking one specific substance. Sleep is the result of a whole range of processes, and it is influenced by factors such as routine regularity, light, movement, stress, alcohol, caffeine, the bedroom environment or health status. Nutritional support in the form of a high-quality food supplement can, however, be one piece of the puzzle that helps bring you closer to better sleep.

NOZONO DeepRest

Why is it sometimes so hard to slow down in the evening?

During the day, we are set up for activity. The brain processes information, solves problems, responds to its surroundings, and constantly switches between different tasks. When this mode continues late into the evening, simply getting into bed does not necessarily mean the body will immediately shift into a restful state.

Our circadian rhythm also comes into play — an approximately 24-hour biological system that, among other things, helps time wakefulness and sleep. Under ideal conditions, sleepiness gradually rises in the evening, and the activity of a number of hormones and neurotransmitters changes. But when we persuade the body to suppress this natural tendency because we need to stay active at night, we then have to work that much harder to persuade it that now it is time to sleep after all.

Even then, however, it is not simply a passive “switching off.” During the night, the brain and body move through different sleep stages, each with different functions, and their alternation is important for both mental and physical recovery.

A good evening routine therefore signals to the body that the day’s activity is coming to an end and it is time to rest, so that we can get up full of energy the next day. And this is exactly where DeepRest has something to offer.

What is DeepRest?

DeepRest is a premium food supplement for evening use. Its formula is not based on melatonin or classic sedative substances. Instead, it combines several complementary ingredients with different biological roles.

Out of respect for legislation, however, we stay grounded when describing their benefits. For example, there are approved health claims for magnesium and vitamin B6. But for L-theanine or apigenin, we can only describe mechanisms and research findings.

What exactly is inside?

Ingredient

Amount in 3 capsules

What we know about it

Magnesium (bisglycinate)

237 mg

Contributes to the normal function of the nervous system and normal muscle function.

L-theanine

201 mg

An amino acid from green tea that has been studied, among other things, in connection with relaxation and sleep.

Chamomile extract

60 mg

Contains the flavonoid apigenin, which is being studied in relation to sleep and the nervous system.

Vitamin B6

3 mg

Contributes to the normal function of the nervous system and normal energy metabolism.

BioPerine®

3.9 mg

A standardized black pepper extract containing piperine, which increases the absorption of some vitamins, minerals, and plant extracts.

Magnesium: why bisglycinate?

Magnesium is an essential mineral that takes part in hundreds of enzymatic reactions and contributes to the normal function of the nervous system and normal muscle function. In a proven combination with vitamin B6, it may therefore be helpful during periods of increased mental and physical strain.

DeepRest relies on magnesium bisglycinate — a form in which magnesium is bound to the amino acid glycine. Compared with some cheaper forms, such as magnesium oxide, bisglycinate is valued for better absorption and bioavailability. At the same time, it does not usually have a laxative effect and is generally well tolerated even by people with a more sensitive digestive tract.

Its effect on sleep was examined, for example, in a randomized 2025 study testing 250 mg of elemental magnesium in bisglycinate form in 155 adults with subjectively poorer sleep quality. The result? After four weeks, the severity of insomnia symptoms decreased more than with placebo.

L-theanine: a gem from the tea leaf

L-theanine is an amino acid naturally present in tea leaves, where it appears alongside stimulants — which is why drinking real tea before bed is not recommended. L-theanine on its own, however, attracted researchers because of its possible positive effect on relaxation, cognitive function, and sleep.

And so far, it looks as though they were right. Meta-analysis results have suggested small to moderate improvements in some subjectively assessed sleep parameters, such as time to fall asleep or overall sleep quality. At the same time, however, the authors point out that there are still relatively few studies using pure L-theanine.

DeepRest contains 201 mg of L-theanine in the daily dose, which is approximately the same amount used in research.

Chamomile and apigenin

The recommended 3 capsules of DeepRest also contain 60 mg of chamomile extract. This provides a range of biologically active substances, including the flavonoid apigenin.

Here too, it would not be appropriate to present this traditional herb as a “natural sleeping pill.” Still, in a 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis that included ten clinical studies with 772 participants, chamomile was associated with some improvement in subjectively assessed sleep quality and, in some studies, also with fewer nighttime awakenings.

How do the individual ingredients work together?

The point of the formula is not to fit as many “exotic” ingredients as possible into a capsule, but to combine well-researched substances with different roles in a meaningful way so that they work synergistically.

Magnesium and vitamin B6 have well-described functions in the body and contribute to the proper function of the nervous system. L-theanine and the components of chamomile extract are being studied in connection with relaxation and certain sleep parameters. The result is a formula aimed more at evening calm than artificial sedation, developed to have the potential to genuinely support the body in its natural processes.

What DeepRest is not

DeepRest is not a sedative that instantly switches you off. At the same time, it is not a substitute for the treatment of long-term or serious sleep problems. It is better to discuss those with a doctor.

DeepRest

How to take DeepRest

The recommended dose is 1–3 capsules daily, 30–60 minutes before bed. You can start with one capsule — especially if you have lower body weight — and gradually increase the dose if needed. The capsules can be taken with or without food, but they should be swallowed with a sufficient amount of water.

After 2–3 months of use, it is recommended to take a 2–4 week break, during which you can assess whether your sleep quality has already stabilized and whether you still need daily support from DeepRest, or whether you may return to it only during more demanding periods.

If you have a long-term sleep problem due, for example, to working late into the night, drinking alcohol and coffee regularly in the evening, or a lack of movement during the day, it makes sense to “take” changes to these habits alongside DeepRest.

When to expect the first changes

The first week

You may feel more relaxed in the evening. Falling asleep may become easier, and the night may feel calmer.

The first month

With regular use, sleep may already become noticeably deeper and more continuous. You may wake less and less during the night and feel fresher in the morning, without a sense of grogginess.

Three months

After three months, associated benefits may also begin to show. Regular, high-quality sleep supports the proper function of the nervous system, resilience to stress, mental performance, and recovery.

Six months and more

In the long term, quality sleep is one of the foundations of both physical and mental recovery, so you may start to notice that you generally have more energy and more zest for life.

Who it may suit — and who should be cautious

DeepRest is for you if:

  • you find it hard to switch from work or parenting mode into rest in the evening,

  • you have a demanding work or life pace,

  • you want to include magnesium and vitamin B6 in your evening routine because you suspect you may be deficient,

  • you prefer a comprehensive formula without melatonin,

  • you are looking for a synergistic combination of multiple ingredients in one capsule.

Caution is advisable if you take medication or have health concerns. Magnesium can affect the absorption of some medicines, such as certain antibiotics, levothyroxine, or bisphosphonates, so in these combinations it is advisable to leave a time gap and consult a doctor or pharmacist. The same applies to piperine, which may affect not only the absorption of medicines but also their metabolism. Consulting a professional is also advisable during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

What does the research say?

  • Magnesium bisglycinate and sleep quality (2025)

What was studied: whether daily supplementation with 250 mg of elemental magnesium in bisglycinate form would affect insomnia symptoms.

Who was studied: 155 healthy adults aged 18–65 with subjectively poorer sleep quality.

What was found: after four weeks, compared with placebo, there was a small but statistically significant improvement in insomnia severity scores. A more pronounced effect was observed in people with lower magnesium intake from food.

  • L-theanine and sleep (2025)

What was studied: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized studies evaluating the effect of L-theanine on sleep parameters.

Who was studied: 897 participants across 19 studies.

What was found: L-theanine was associated with some improvement in subjective sleep onset, daytime functioning, and overall subjectively assessed sleep quality.

  • Chamomile and sleep (2024)

What was studied: a systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical studies with chamomile.

Who was studied: ten studies, 772 participants in total.

What was found: chamomile was associated with improved subjectively assessed sleep quality and, in some studies, also with fewer nighttime awakenings.

DeepRest kapsle

Isn’t magnesium from the pharmacy enough?

The range of supplements for sleep support and recovery is full of “ordinary” magnesium products that attract mainly with a low price, as well as multi-ingredient complexes that often lack transparent information about the amount and form of specific active ingredients. Yet these, together with the overall formula, are exactly what matters most.

DeepRest therefore takes a different, more meaningful path. The formula contains only a few carefully selected ingredients, but in premium quality — and also in amounts and forms with strong, scientifically studied potential. That way, you know exactly what you are getting in one daily dose. And in the evening, instead of several separate products, you only need one glass jar.

DeepRest is also vegan, free from gluten, GMO, preservatives, and major allergens, and it is made in the EU.

FAQ

  • Is DeepRest a natural sleeping pill?

No. It is not a medicine or a sedative. DeepRest is a combined food supplement for evening use, built on the benefits of scientifically verified or intensively studied substances such as magnesium, L-theanine, and chamomile extract.

  • Does DeepRest contain melatonin?

No. The DeepRest formula does not contain melatonin or other substances known for their sedating effect.

  • Do I have to take all three capsules?

No. The recommended dosage is 1–3 capsules daily. It is sensible to start with a lower dose and gradually increase it based on your body’s individual response.

  • Can I take DeepRest every day?

Yes. DeepRest does not contain classic sedatives or hypnotics associated with a risk of dependence, and it is suitable for regular use.

  • Can I take it together with the magnesium I already have at home?

Essentially yes, but first calculate your total magnesium intake from all supplements — it should not exceed 250 mg per day. (Magnesium obtained from a normal diet is not included in this limit.)

  • Is bisglycinate better than oxide?

It cannot be said that one form is best for everyone. However, bisglycinate is among the forms that show better bioavailability in studies, and it is also generally well tolerated even by people with sensitive digestion.

  • Can I combine DeepRest with medication?

Magnesium and piperine may affect the absorption of some substances. It is best to check the specific combination with a doctor or pharmacist.

  • What if I feel sleepy in the morning after DeepRest?

DeepRest is designed to minimize the risk of morning drowsiness. In more sensitive individuals, however, it can still occur at higher doses. In that case, try lowering the dose.

  • Will DeepRest solve long-term sleep problems?

If you have long-term or serious sleep difficulties, it is important to identify and ideally remove their cause. However, if you are in a demanding situation that you cannot currently influence (for example, work or parenting demands), DeepRest may still be a suitable part of a calming evening routine.

  • How soon will I notice a difference?

Every body responds differently. The effects may be felt sooner, for example, by people who had a magnesium deficiency before they started taking it. But you may notice the first more visible changes after around 3–4 weeks of regular use.

  • How much does DeepRest cost and how does the subscription work?

One pack of DeepRest contains 90 capsules. So if you choose the highest recommended dosage, you have exactly a 30-day course.

So that you do not suddenly discover after a month that you have none left for tomorrow, you can choose a practical monthly or three-month subscription, which reduces the original price of 69,90 € by up to 40%. At your chosen interval, fresh supplies will arrive automatically, without you having to remember to reorder. You can cancel the subscription at any time.

Nozono also offers a 90-day satisfaction guarantee. This applies to three months of use of the same supplement: if you take it consistently for three months and notice no effect, you can request a refund.
